I get it. My priorities shifted after I had kids and I just wasn’t feeling ANY job. Have you thought about going client side? Or doing strategy for a political campaign you believe in? The money probably won’t be what you’re used to, but any big universities in your area where you could join their marketing team?
I’m 38 and try to remind myself of how I felt when I graduated from college: “holy shit, I can do ANYTHING I want now!”
You can make a small change or a huge change, but life is truly too short to be grinding all the time.
I feel you. I went freelance after my second kiddo and haven’t looked back. It gives me a sense of control over my commitment and my daily schedule, and knowing that (in a perfect world) I could take “breaks” between gigs. Money has been better for me too. Good luck!
