What are the most lucrative industries to move into from Tech? Is the transition easy?

Hello fishes! I am currently interviewing for a Portfolio Associate role a PIMCO , down in their Newport office. I would like to get some feedback if any of you are familiar with this role, what are the exist opportunities that can come up down the road? I know it is not presented as a front office role but more of a support role to PMs. Appreciate anyone’s input on this. Thank you!

3 YOE in a big 4/accenture firm. Most of my consulting projects have been in data science/analytics, data engineering, & digital marketing. I have also heavily used R, Python, PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, etc & some digital analytics tools such as adobe analytics

Apart from data science (which is pretty competitive), what type of roles at FAANG or big tech can I get with my experience? Or would anyone with a similar background share where or what they exited to?

Has anyone gone from an agency to an in-house Programmatic team? If so what has your experience been?

Thoughts on getting fed government jobs? I'm a first year associate in a specialized transaction group in DC and I fucking hate it. I had an internship at a federal department in school but after that went 2L SA/firm. Any hope of finding something? Making a switch from software engineer to product management.
I have been a one man show for most of my projects in years prior and have lead 2-3 engineers and 2 BAs on my recent projects.

How difficult is it to make a switch? 12 years experience in IT.

I can’t understand, why in the big tech: data scientist = software engineer?!!!!! It is not… and it is huge disappointment when you ask for data scientist who can improve your results that you are not satisfied with, but you design all your technical interview around SE

Can anyone tell me whats the median salary for Functional Safety Engineer? I had an offer for 140k (it was a 6 month contract position though). I will also be getting an offer internally at my current work place (which is full time) . Since full time offers more job security. I am not expecting them to match or put in an offer close to that amount, but just wanted to get an estimate.
