I was comparing my hourly pay to my managers salary pay and I noticed there wasn’t a major difference in pay. I was considering moving up to a management but now I’m torn because it’s not worth the work or pay. Have you turned a position because the pay didn’t match the role?

I haven't before. I definitely would here though, why take on all that added stress and hassle if you don't make enough money to make it worthwhile? I feel bad for your manager.

I turned down a manager role last year because the salary wasn’t any higher than what I make now. Right now, I’m hourly, so I can still earn overtime. If I switched to a salaried position, I’d actually be losing a lot of money, so I said no. It just didn’t make sense for me.

Just jumped from 60K —> 110K after 2 years of being very underpaid although being considered a “top performer”.

If you’re on the fence about jumping to another firm or starting to look elsewhere, realize that loyalty is often only skin deep in consulting. Prioritize your career goals, whether they be financial otherwise. Praise and appreciation are nice, but don’t let ANYONE make you feel bad about choices you make for your happiness.
