Play your cards right and in 3 years you'll jump to 200+
Was poached from a niche boutique/dumpster fire with horrible management to a larger firm with sizable annual raises and bonuses. Have been promoted twice since I switched.
60k to 110k is huge, congrats!

Wow and I thought me jumping from 65 to 96 was a big bump. Nice job!!! I need to take lessons from ya.
Well that aged like milk
Got a near 100% raise when I switched jobs. Always look out for #1.
Congratulations! How did you make the jump? Did someone reach out to you from the other firm recruiting, or did you get a referral, or did you just apply for the open position?
Congrats!!!! Such a good feeling knowing you’re being valued fairly at your new firm. I bet your old firm did whatever they could to keep you once they realized someone else was willing to pay up

But...how’d you whether you’re valued fairly at your new firm? Maybe you are just much less underpaid...dun-dun-dunnn
If you play your cards right it can happen at the same firm as well - I jumped from 105k to 170k within 2 months due to promotion and division switch. Don’t be shy to ask around.
Your general point is fine but let's not equate money and happiness. I've been with the same company for 15+ years. I probably could have made a little bit more here and there if I would have jumped a few times, but not sure I would have been overall HAPPIER with all the moves. I'm quite happy with my job, I've experienced a lot of professional growth, and over time, you're comp balances out. You can't be at the top of the pay scale every year, it's just not possible. Always need to look out for #1 buy that's not always money. Congrats on your role/increase and best of luck!!
I just jumped as well - took a 40% pay increase after being underpaid. I value your post , it really rings true for many in this industry. Being loyal to a consulting firm which makes decisions on your livelihood strictly through a P/L lens is foolish.
Serious question, to industry or another firm?

What company did you jump from?

This is very encouraging, thank you
That’s right! Know your worth and look out for number one. Must’ve been such a relief after that jump. Bills won’t be as big of a burden and you’ll have more spending/investing money
