This is uncharted territory for me too, but I think as long as you get their permission to post their names, then we’re off and running.
From there, we’ll get a writer interested and then pop over to the PR bowl.
We literally have all the resources here to make this happen.
Adweek has their Pride Stars list in June — but that has been all that I’ve seen encompassing Advertising specifically, and they certainly do little promo with it comparatively to their other lists which is a shame (and sort of alarming to me). There are several lists for Queer execs and LGBTQ+ biz leaders across industries, and several specifically for Lesbians/Queer female presenting individuals in tech like the Queer 50 I always see pop up.
I like this. I would worry with such a huge range of identity’s under the umbrella that it would serve some people more than others. Ie myself as a gay, white, cis, male - my experience in advertising is a lot easier and different to say a trans POC.
I understand that concern, but I think giving any kind of attention and credit to the community as a whole is better than nothing. I'd like to say we'd equally represent every nuanced identity, but I know that's easier said than done
