I went through an entire interview saying they were needing a bookkeeper for 2 clients they were bring on and they would be in touch, sounding like I had the job. When they got in touch 3 weeks later it was to tell me they were going in another direction!
Now I went through another interview process through Glassdoor without a single live conversation or interview. When I got an offer letter with a great salary I was suspicious. I googled the company and....nothing! They don't exist.

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

Question for my friend at KPMG. Her MDs and Partners have been directing her to eat her hours. If she charges over 45 hours she will get emails from management and when she charges over 65 she got a call from a PPMD. I work at deloitte and have never been told to do this and thought it honestly was illegal. Thoughts? It doesn’t seem right that she’s having to eat those hours and feel scared when she’s working til 10/12 every night.
