If an employer posts a job requesting at least 1 year experience and lists the salary at $100,000 to $120,000, if an applicant has 4+ years experience, is it unreasonable to ask for $125,000 expecting there will be the possibility of negotiating?

Generally speaking, if you ask for a salary that's beyond the range posted you won't be taken seriously. There might be an exception if you bring some special skills to the table, and those skills happen to be in demand. Perhaps if you handle it deftly you could make it work, but you might also effectively price yourself out. It's definitely a gamble.

like

That is exactly what I would do. You always want to ask for more than where you want to land because they will likely negotiate.

why would you apply for a job with a pay that low

Always negotiate the pay, but if they already post the range, it might be hard to change

Hello, I have a final panel interview coming up for a Strategic Product Consultant role at Procore (Construction SaaS). It’ll be 3 separate interviews, 30 minute each with a Team Lead, a Senior Consultant, and a Customer Success Manager.

I’m currently a PM for a General Contractor looking to pivot into tech.

Looking for advice to prepare for these final rounds of interview. Thanks!
