If I hear the phrase eat what you kill one more time in an interview, I’m going to lose my mind. It’s always a code for we won't pay you a base salary, but you can harass your friends and family for their 401ks. I want to be a Financial Advisor, not a telemarketer for a glorified pyramid scheme with a fancy mahogany office. Does a Wealth Management firm exist that actually pays a living wage while you build a book?

Look for 'Associate Advisor' roles at larger RIAs or private banks rather than the big insurance-based brokerages.

You’re not wrong on that. There are firms that pay a base while you build, but they’re usually the more established ones and a lot less loud about it. The ones pushing that line in interviews are kind of telling you what the job’s going to be like.

Arent there a lot that are fee only?

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. The billable hours and lack of work life balance are really getting to me and I am looking to switch to something else out of litigation, preferably in house. What does an exit from Salesforce consulting look like? I’m in a technical role leading a small team so my understanding is a technical/solution architect or a development team lead at either Salesforce or an end user like Amazon/Amex.

I have bounced around a couple consulting companies so would prefer not to do it again. Total 4 YOE.

I don’t think I have enough YOE to go for a program architect role at SF otherwise I’d be interested.

Got braids. You'd think I literally got a face transplant from how shook my coworkers are. I would say over 10 people have stopped me to ask about them or comment on them and I've been at work for maybe 2 1/2 hours. It's all been positive, but am I wrong for still finding it annoying? They don't lose their minds when Sarah gets bangs or whatever so I wish they could keep that same energy.

Currently work in a very unique Wealth Management ops role.

Getting paid 85k base with 40k in bonus plus about 35k~ in OT.

Money isn’t everything but in my late 20s it feels like the only thing important right now.

WLB is next to zero as 60hr weeks are the minimum as of late. Management feels like they are trying to push a few of us out. Was told not to expect much come year end for comp. Any suggestions on finding a new role/pay expectations?

Hello all! I am looking for a job in finance/investments, but I’m having trouble attracting attention from employers. Any advice on how to market myself better and where I should be looking would be greatly appreciated!

Hey all! I have an interview with
Deloitte in Regulatory Risk and more precisely in their Investment Management Services team. I would like to know if anyone
knows what the job entails exactly. I keep hearing about people "fooled" into taking a job in risk advisory thinking it'll really be advisory while they only end up doing IT and Audit support (which I do not want to do).
Is it the case here?
Thanks!
