If money didn't matter, would you be in the same job you are in now?

Absolutely not to be honest. Part of that is because I am mostly interested in the creative arts which isn't always the most lucrative so for the most I work my regular job (mostly) for the money.

No. I grew up extremely poor, so when I got a full ride scholarship I picked a hard major that paid most money.

Plus, Lockheed Martin is a good employer, from what I have heard.

No, I would have created my own forensic science company to help with the backlog of cases and maybe parental DNA testing as those will always be needed.

There is one organization that has been requesting funds in order to work the backlogs that are in all 50 states, but it's slow going.

Fuuuuuuuuuck no

No way. I don’t hate my job but if I didn’t need money, I’d definitely walk away

I feel similarly, I think

Obviously, yes.

I say this because I could very much switch fields and make more. But I enjoy teaching - and having lots of breaks 😅

Yes.

That's great!

Yes - I love what I do. I think the only difference is that I wouldn’t feel as anxious as I do about money and how I spend it, etc.

It's great that you love what you do! I'm sure that makes it easier.

Probably not

This job, absolutely not. This field yes💯

Dude what? No

Definitely no, probably wouldn’t be practicing law or if I was it would be in a different practice area.

Nope.

Nope.

NO!

Why would you have any job if money wasn’t a problem?! You can find purpose in life with things that aren’t giving labor to someone else’s cause.

Hi All,

Recently got the opportunity to "grow our ESG/CSR" practice at a small regional consulting firm, due to my recent grad certification in sustainable strategy. Wondering where I should focus us as a services industry for big impact - we have a large product innovation, engineering area, and know in the past we've had a lot of lip service to clients and only recorded ESG for their compliance.

Hoping to make a big difference and include CSR/Sust audits for our client projects! Any tips?

Hi 👋 Does anyone work in fields related to LCA and EPD?
I'm currently employed (2 YOE, background of Environmental Engineering with a master in Circular Economy) but actively searching for a new higher paid company - I live in Spain and make 20k, it's a struggle. These topics are still pretty new over here so there are not many options.
Any recommendation on finding remote jobs (since I only have the Spanish work permit)?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I'm currently having an offer from BlueOptima and Cohesity and am conflicted between the two.
I have offers in the SDET profile.
Cohesity Inc is providing me MTS and @BlueOptima is providing SDET-1.

Glassdoor reviews more of less place the two companies almost equally, and the package being offered by the two is almost in the same range.
My preferences include:
Learning opportunities in the role.
Company's work environment.
Company's growth prospects, are also a consideration.
YOE: 2 years

I just got engaged on Sunday (!!) and my ring is just a little big. I’m reading online that most jewelers won’t resize a rose gold ring. Has anyone had any issues with this? I could go back to the family jeweler who designed the ring and would do it for free but the ring was designed in Michigan and I live in Chicago. Is it worth it to drive to Michigan to get it taken care of there?

Outside counsel has been prepping company witnesses for a trial in August. It is my subject area so I am supervising outside counsel. I did not, however, choose the counsel. He is doing a really awful job. Co counsel is better, but not great either. Higher ups love the firm… I do not want to micromanage, but I have genuine concerns about outside counsel’s ability to try this case. Trials are rare, and I just don’t think these guys have actually tried many cases. Cont. below…

Curious to know how much your student loans were when you graduated from your program, how much you’ve paid off so far, and your age. If you have any varying factors too, like kids, income range, etc. Just trying to see if I’m on track or slacking in life. I am 34 yo, i graduated with 95k in student loans, i currently have 85k left and i make 85k in come. I’m also a single mom with two kids. Just praying for 100% student loans forgiveness.
