Im 33 with 80k I’n student loans. Very recent promotion to 127k base (was at 95). Also hoping for some forgiveness capacity. I was stuck at 55k (tops) annual income for 6 YEARS In a very HCOL area (NYC) until I completed my Masters and career switched 2 years ago- so had other debt I had to take care of before approaching student loans 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️ I’m scared of my payment when my income based repayment plan expires 😢😢
Me too. I’m so scared of these payments. I don’t know what I’m gonna do when the freeze is over. I haven’t paid a dime to it since the freeze started in like 2020? 😢 wish i could win the lottery or something. 😟
28 years old, salary is near $100k. $55k in student loans (haven’t paid anything yet). No kids, not married. I have a masters and start my doctorate this next year (paid by work). Luckily Boeing has a new program where they match whatever you pay (up to 10% of your salary) and put that on your 401k. You don’t get the regular match though. So the plan is to pay $9k off this coming year and they will put $9k in my 401k for me. My 401k is going to take a hit the next few years but I want the student loans paid.

My interest doesn’t freeze on these actually so I will be hitting them hard to pay them off ASAP.
35. No kids. Salary is just over 140k. My loans started at 80 & Ballooned to 95 before the Covid pause. I’m now down to 65k after paying rather aggressively during the pause. I have about another 10K sitting in a high yield savings account waiting until just before the pause ends to apply that money. Right now it’s a very welcome financial safety net.
I hope they get cancelled. That’ll really help out a lot of families and people that are just trying to make ends meet.
