Just Do What You Want, life is short
Love it.
I have a mortgage but otherwise fit this criteria, and I ask myself this question almost daily…
Yes - stability is key and meeting financial goals
For me, yes. I like my job — it’s interesting and engaging, I get to do work I find meaningful with coworkers I mostly really like, and I’ve earned enough autonomy to have a decent work-life balance.
We moved from LCOL to HCOL and it’s okay to visit LCOL from time to time but don’t want to go back (the feeling is probably mutual). We’ll do everything we can to try to find a way to retire here in our sunny, calm, low crime HCOL.
Eh no except for in LCOL that might be the best salary you can get except for doctor
That’s my situation & I still practice. (Left HCOL 3 years ago) I’m in-house though & I like my job ~70% of the time. There’s absolutely no way I’d go back to a firm.
Absolutely agree. I’m in house but there’s really no flexibility. Onsite 5 days a week and I can eventually accrue 3 weeks PTO. Never been able to travel (in the last 8 years…taken no trips longer than 3 work days in a row).
I work for an insurance company doing low end insurance coverage work that’s relatively easy. There are deadlines and things can get a little hectic at times, but I realistically work 30 hours a week and I’m at $200k full remote. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it. Point is even without those things (mortgage etc), I would still do it, just for having extra money to play around with. Idk what else I could do besides the law that would fall into this category
Agreed.
Hell no I’d open a bakery or something lol
You get it lol
