I choose death.
Accenture is a hot mess right now. I’m an L2, up for SMD, if and when affordability ever hits again.
That hot mess could be good if you’re one of the “kings of the ashes” after the bleeding stops. Or it could be bad if you aren’t prepared to walk into that bloodbath and survive / thrive.
To join as an L2 you must be extremely senior. You need to make sure you’re setup for success and someone will nurture your career for a while. It is not easy.
AM is looking good they are nimble and don't have all the restrictions the others have. Keep in mind all are a hot mess right now.
Not Accenture under the current leadership

A&M probably the best choice with the most upside
It's technically "unlimited". In reality it's probably capped at about $6-7m
All seem like eat what you kill firms. PwC might have the best teaming culture.
Accenture and Oliver Wyman are not eat what you kill at all. It’s a very “Hunt in packs” approach. Alvarez on the other hand is an eat what you kill til the core. But compensation wise, OW and A&M might be slightly higher than Accenture. An MD L2 can have a Total Comp. around $1M in good years.
All are a step up for a BCG PINO
A&M then OW
PWC and ACN got too big and are really struggling
Growth is the only thing that matters in Consulting. It creates all of the opportunity. ACN in particular hasn’t had organic growth in 3+ years and with the DOGE hits, this year won’t be any different.
Tell me more about this thing called “growth” of which you speak…
Don’t move right now
PWC, assuming they still have their pension plan.
Why not L2 at Accenture?
A&M if you are ok with bad WLB otherwise Pwc
A&M MD here who came from EY-P. I've been very impressed with the firm so far. It undoubtedly has more autonomy and upside for high performers than any other firm out there. That said, there are differences in how different SBUs operate with some better than others. Feel free to DM
Wyman
I was planning to leave ZS for A&M - really liked their culture (highly entrepreneurial) and comp model. Had a health issue as we were discussing offer and withdrew as I felt I wouldn’t be able to put in the 125% required to fill the role we were discussing. But I really connected well with the partners I met there.
