I would just mention "I have another offer at this rate but I also really want to work here. Would it be possible to match?" Or instead of asking for a match just mention the rate and say you'll think about it idk
They won't rescind an offer just because you ask for more. You'll just have to accept that job with your tail between your legs
Would also like to add leveraging external job offers against internal transfers?
not really I’m not tryna stay in public anymore lol
I’d say know your place. If your office needs people and you’re reliable, probably they want to keep you. But, yeah once you’re in that door, mentally prepared to walk out that door as well. If you’re really like what you’re doing and want to stay but need a bit more money. Just being honest with them that you’d love to stay and you believe you can be a great asset, but as life’s changing every day and you have more responsibilities now. Just saying that you’re exploring your options and got another offer that you’re considering now
They won’t rescind the offer but may not match. At that point not a whole lot you can do. Entirely depends on how bad they want to hire you and where you fall into their pay band for the role.
