Further to my recommendation, you need to know that Datejust isn’t a sporty watch. It’s considered more of a dressy one
Girard Perregaux hasn't been relevant in forever lol, also 42mm is ridiculous imo
The Datejust is the classic no nonsense choice, impossible to go wrong.
As an alternative to consider, why not the Omega Globemaster? It's a great Datejust alternative
Grand Seikos sure are nice, but spending ~$6500 on a Seiko gives me heartburn. If I were the Chief Strategy Officer of JLC, I would create an integrated bracelet sports watch with a non-derivative design language and the caliber 920 found in the Royal Oak Jumbo, and sell it for $10k.

I’d rather have an Aqua Terra or a Grand Seiko than either of those.
Grand Seiko has a million watches, many of which are special or limited editions, so allow me to make two suggestions.
SBGA413, also known as the Sakura (cherry blossom). Has a really neat dial pattern that is similar to a snowflake but also has a very light pink tint to the coloration.
SBGJ235, which is a Grand Seiko boutique only watch. The blue Mt Iwate dial is beautiful. It has the exact same dimensions as several of their heritage GMTs (like my matrix) and if you’ve never seen the 44GS case in person it is really something special. The 62GS case the Sakura is in is cool too, but there are just so many angles and polished surfaces on the 44GS there really isn’t anything else like it.
I love GP - the Laureato has been around since the 70s yet still is under the radar
