First thing that comes to mind if you want to move up into management is absolute reliability. You have to be where you're supposed to be when it's expected. No exceptions! And along with being smart and honest and hard working, there's just a certain attitude, an ability to roll with the punches no matter what comes along. If you get nervous or shaky under pressure you may not be the best person for a management role.
Focus on keeping your cool. It also helps if you can be a 'leader' before getting the title. If management notices that other people respect you and look to you for guidance you've got a very strong case to make.
I recommend finding a trusted mentor (someone currently in a position you want or even higher) and telling them explicitly that you’re looking to move up eventually. This shows initiative which is a key quality. Other qualities you should be exhibiting are coachability, empathy driven communication, and low-ego in learning environments. Good luck! You got this!
