I’m 1k on United and yet to see any benefits. Are there any 1k perks on domestic flights other than priority boarding that you enjoy?

1k line is an absolute lifesaver. During the Chicago shutdown earlier this week, I skipped the 100 person standby list and walked directly onto an earlier flight that had been delayed

Free snack/drink and upgrade priority

Free booze and snack box.

And not just a snack box. Pretty much any meal/snack on board ☝🏼

Better chance at upgrade and the wonderful snack box.

They thank you for flying with them

Meal and drink may be best perk. That or no fees on award changes/close in booking. Upgrades are pretty rare unless you’re going off hours and routes. GPUs are super overrated due to the fare class minimum.

Lots more points per dollar (I think it’s 11x?)

If you fly economy, they just give you anything you want

Free award ticket changes, more points, standby priority and better availability of award seats

Tapas box and red wine!

I like the flexibility on awards as you can cancel literally hours before the flight. Also more award availability.

I am so conflicted about socializing during COVID. My friend invited me to a dinner with two new people (who work at the big 4) at an outdoor restaurant. Where I live, the COVID rate is ~3%. My friend invited the group chat and the two other girls shamed my friend for socializing in a small group during COVID. My friend group won’t agree to be in a pod and won’t meet unless everyone is 6 feet apart. It’s going to get cold soon and I feel like I’m going to be lonely if I don’t make new friends ☹️
