I’m angry. Every time I speak up in meetings, I get interrupted or my ideas are dismissed—only to be repeated by a male colleague and suddenly taken seriously. I’ve worked hard to earn my seat at the table, but the constant undermining is exhausting and infuriating.

How are other women handling this? Do you call it out in the moment, escalate it, or just let it slide to avoid being labeled “difficult”?

Following. At my level, I can’t say I have a perfect solution, either. I’m also in a male dominated field where your competence is often questioned.

I do a combination of calling the behavior out (eg: ‘I’m in the middle of a sentence’ when interrupted) and letting things slide. It really depends on the situation and the people in the room. I’m more likely to let things slide when people above me are in the room. Rarely do I call things out then.

When someone has questioned what I told them to do (vendors or freelancers) I’ve called them out and absolutely gave feedback to my skip level (helps she’s a woman). We cut both freelancers for not liking a woman telling them what to do.

One last thing - be cautious about calling out interrupting when virtual. Sometimes it’s just a lag in Teams or a bad internet connection 😂

Found a random engagement ring.

Hi all, so I found a platinum ring (which I assumed it's an engagement ring as it has dates and initials engraved on top.) And a Divvy tag (I have no idea what it was until I googled it. Apparently it's a bike sharing service in Chicago) in a briefcase I ordered online. I was thinking of returning the item back to the store but that wouldn't help the person who lost the ring. Attached is a picture of them.
