Oh man, I hear you on that salary gap. It's wild how the same PharmD can lead to such different paychecks depending on the setting. Hospital roles feel more clinical and hands-on with patients, but industry (like pharma companies, regulatory, or R&D) often throws in bigger bucks for the corporate vibe, even if the day-to-day is more meetings and data than dispensing. Credentials totally overlap, so it's smart to compare; I've seen a bunch of pharmacists make that jump chasing better comp without regretting the switch.
On the long-term growth side, it seems like industry has more upside potential. Hospital salaries have been ticking up steadily but it's often tied to union scales or hospital budgets, so growth can feel capped without moving into management.
