I’m convinced that finance culture makes or breaks a company’s agility. Do you think finance should act more like an enforcer or as an enabler? I’ve seen both and the “business partner” mindset wins every time.

It depends… but in my experience in what I’ve seen from my clients that have scaled their businesses; it’s a partnership… a balance between setting proper expectations of ‘what can we do’ and ‘what should we do’ has been the best strategy that I’ve personally seen…

But if you let your CEO spend money like a drunken sailor, you’ll have no company soon enough… and if your CFO doesn’t let you grow, you’ll be left behind, and soon enough you’ll have no company…

Enable so they know when the enforcement comes in. What I’m getting at is you will have a runaway train without some semblance of either one.

I received a verbal offer for a VP position at CCB line of business at JPMC in NYC two weeks ago. The recruiter asked for salary expectations but there was no number set. It’s been two weeks since and complete radio silence. I sent an email to a hiring manager a week ago but received no reply. It’s August so people could be on vacation but this is really strange. Has anyone had similar experience?

Hi Accenture people, got offer today, asked HR about project, she mentioned it will be mapped on first day itself and will be connected with project manager. I told her i need details about the project and she said she will talk to project manager and get back to me tommorrow. Everyone says we have to search project after joining only. So any idea if this scenario can happen? Anyone got to know project details before joining? Please share ur views.

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?
