Depending on what market you’re in now, London is likely more affordable and your money goes further (than in NY & SF). So the pay is lower but you need less.

Make sure you’re ready to get a pay cut because London pays around 1/3 of what they do in the US. I heard a lot of hire freezes at the moment.

I recently made the move to the UK. Be prepared to be shocked at how much they pay. Imagine what you got paid as a mid or senior creative and that’s what the CD pay is.
I’ve struggled bc I’m not in London and there are not many shops (non of the big names ones for sure) that are doing remote work. They all want ppl in the office 3/4 days a week which isn’t doable for me. And the freelance market is pretty bleak right now. Freelance pay is equally as bad as FT pay - think 400/500 day rate.

Most agencies only hire teams. You'd need to find a partner first, which is tougher than finding a job. Although this might be a good time to look because so many people are out of work. The job market is the worst since 2008. As others have said, the pay is awful and the cost of living is higher than NYC.

I’m moving as well! Pay cut is real - pretty much a 40-50% pay cut but let’s be honest, nobody moves to europe for the money. It’s about the work/life/travel balance :)

Pie experiment. Just got a jar of fig chili jam and thinking of what yo do with it. Had a scrap of pie crust left from Thanksgiving, so did a mini galette with the jam and a Granny Smith apple. Crust came out a little ragged but it was delicious and so simple.

This could be a great last minute dessert with store bought pie crust. If you cut the apple slices very thin, it doesn’t take long to bake.
