I'm disappointed after getting rejected for a role I wanted. The recruiter was supportive and so good at keeping me updated during the process, and it made me think I was a top choice. But since receiving the bad news, I haven't heard a word from them. Why the sudden ghosting from a very communicative recruiter? Aren't they supposed to help line up more opportunities?

If you were rejected, then you heard from them. What am I missing? How is that ghosted? You want the recruiter to keep talking to you about the role you were rejected?

They vanish faster than commission payouts. Once you’re not useful to their metrics, you’re invisible. Always remember: recruiters work for companies, not candidates

It doesn't sound like there's anything left for them to communicate. At least not about this position. If you haven't asked them about other opportunities, you should. You can't sit around hoping for them to take that initiative for you.

Depends on the recruiter. Most that I’ve worked with were in-house and working for the company, not me. Some are working with multiple companies and could potentially let you know about another role that fits. Not something that is guaranteed or expected, though.
