I'm freaking out right now and could really use some advice. I just took a new job and have already put in my notice at my current company. Then yesterday I found out I'm pregnant - happy, but wanted to wait a while. Now I'm scared about having to tell my new boss I'll need time off for the baby when I won't even qualify for FMLA. What's the best way to handle this kind of conversation with them?

Congratulations! Please don’t stress- this is a wonderful part of life and managers deal with this all the time. Tell them when you are ready and they will figure it out. Your health and your baby’s well being are more important than any job- it will all work out ! Take care , rest when you can and stay hydrated. Wishing you much joy!

Even without FMLA, some companies are flexible and will work something out with you. I’d suggest having the conversation sooner rather than later so you can both plan together.

Congrats!

Hey OP, how’s it going?

Hey Boschlers,
Is tomorrow holiday??

I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read? I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? Personally I am happy and love the work but fear for my career progression.

Does anyone else feel like distribution is the most behind-the-times of any department within a company? I work for a major automotive brand and some of the facility managers write and read at a 9th grade level, cannot properly use virtually anything in Office, etc.

Post beach photo shoot. Just as I thought she would - wild woman and bad dog mom forgot her treats. BUT there was a fisherman she was completely enthralled with some they got some good photos of her on the rock jetties. I was NOT in the right shoes for climbing rock jetties. She traumatized a crab, sniffed dead grass and got hit in the butt by a wave. Here is nap time at home.

I find myself questioning basic politeness I’ve learned since a child. Wondering what everyone else thinks. I work with an associate. She’s great. When she does good work or something I’ve asked her to do, I, of course, say “thank you!” I don’t really expect a response. She always replies “you’re welcome!” Or some variation. And for some reason, that’s awkward. Is it just me? I know in normal manners, that is the right response. Why does it sit funny?
