Not a Johnson voter - thought he would be awful and he’s managed to be even worse than my expectations.
However, very happy Pritzker voter - not sure what else I’d want out of a governor
He’s a dem governor that has managed to stay out of jail (so far). The bar is that low

They are in entirely different categories. Pritzker is a great leader. Johnson is horrific for the reasons you stated and many more. Don’t vote for labels.

What makes Pritzker a great leader?

I view locking people up as treating a symptom of systemic disenfranchisement. I believe pritzker aligns with this philosophy and operates with an intention of making life better for people at the bottom of the income and social scale. Has he done enough, no. I disavow anything Brandon Johnson does. He's just an unqualified kook.
My wife had a gun pulled on her at 7 pm in Bucktown a couple years ago. I have a friend whose wife was carjacked in the West Loop. I never felt unsafe, but you have to acknowledge the threat is real.
Chicago is the third largest city in the US but ranked 15 in crime. The crime narrative is overblown and a lot of it is because of how many Black people we have lol
Not anymore. The criminals may be concentrated but carjackings have made their territory all of Chicago.
Genuinely think Johnson is the most incompetent Mayor in our country - reason why I left the Democratic Party (but still vote for them at the federal level, e.g., lesser of two evils)
Personally I’m pro violent crime
The mayor and governor have very little influence on pre-trial decisions.
The mayor still won’t allow curfews when kids shut down streets and are violent. The mayor and governor aren’t the same, don’t get along and Pritzker has shut him down more than once (toxic waste dump for immigrants, etc)
Johnson seems to very focused on race.
Copywriter what’s your stance on this issue - how do you characterize “dangerous people” and releasing them onto the street? And how to you feel about our freedom and constitutional rights generally? I’m curious where you’d draw the line
It is possible to be anti-Trump, anti-Tate, anti-Johnson, and anti-Pritzker. I for one hit the superfecta. The first three don't seem to require much explanation I'd hope, but I'm very disappointed in Pritzker's handling of our awful fiscal situation. I get that we as voters shot down his plan to increase taxes, but he's done nothing on the expense side of the equation and used Covid windfalls to further expand our liabilities by setting up permanent programs and has expanded pensions even beyond what was already promised rather than starting to curtail them at least moving forward (the math doesn't work, we need to phase them out of the pay packages of our city and state workers).
Crime’s getting better. The city is safer now than it was during Covid, which was a very unstable time across the country/globe
Hi Brandon 😂
Johnson is disappointing.
I actually like Pritzker.
I don’t think we have a “relaxed” stance on violent crime. Can they be doing better? Yes.
