It helps me to force myself to be more social vs. ruminating at home. Surrounding myself with people that will motivate me to do the things that bring me joy — see that movie, go to that museum, hit up that park.
I’m listening to an audiobook on mindfulness which is helping majorly. Know it’s such a depression buzzword but there’s a reason for it. I’ve found that practicing the skills even just while I’m reading helps reduce my anxiety pretty significantly.
Still the struggle is real and I feel like I’m living “paycheck to paycheck” with my serotonin levels 😂 So if it makes you feel any better, you are definitely not alone. Hope you feel strong soon xo
You are definitely not alone. Agree with everything CW1 said.
Sometimes unplugging a bit from work, still do your job well but maybe not the full effort, just for a set period of time helps me. Then take that extra energy/time and pour it into something else. Whether that’s a new hobby, building deeper or new relationships, practice a new routine for self care/exercise, clean and organize your living space, or whatever just get your head right.
I’m not sure if I can make the cut or if it’s even healthy for me to keep perusing my current role. I’ve got a new psychiatrist appointment coming up in about a month but it’s gotten to the point where getting up is effort. How do you deal.
