If you have a job currently, there's no harm in looking around — just don't let your current job find out.
But if you have a job currently and are thinking freelance, don't.
Look around by all means but don’t leave your current job until you have something.
Better to jump while having a job, than to try while you don’t.
Never hurts to look. But don’t leave without a signed contract, and ideally some inside information as to how the new place you might go, works.
they’re scarce but always worth trying if unhappy or desire more than what your current employer provides.
Play the field but don’t leave. Only going to get worse before it gets better as large companies continue to feed the “great cheapening”. Companies are using the chaos in our country to eliminate staff until they realize they screwed up or to boost profits even more. I have 27 years of leadership experience in retail and a MBA. Not getting any leads or solid interviews. Left my multi-unit role to go FT with my content business, but have been exploring corporate life again.
So again, stay put and remember most jobs aren’t safe in the US.
Its worth it to keep a search going. Quite a few of my coworkers managed to get out of our holding company ahead of layoffs this year.
