I have not considered working for others but have considered going out on my own. My deterrent always comes back to being in a specialized area and how difficult that would be in the market. I do think if there were enough of a collective in this frame of mind, things would change.

I've also done my own for a few years, before joining the big firm. Tbh, the large firm seems to be more draining, however, the benefits are outweighing the negatives.

I've kicked around the idea of starting my own again, just to ensure that we can recruit more young people in the business and likely will do this as my end game. For now though, is there a list of black/minority owned firms? If so, we might be doing a disservice by not publicizing them.
