2020 and this first full week of 2021 were the pushes I needed to finally get a therapist. How are y'all holding up?

I’d say I’m holding up well. I think I need to see a therapist too, so your message has me looking into this. So thank you. I never battled with depression until August of 2018. I’m not sure what triggered, but I made a recovery when I got busy in the spring. I never suffered from depression before this, but 2020 brought another episode. I’ve thought about quitting my job and looking for something else, but I’m going through power through and give therapy a try.

Getting married in September, have a vax only policy for guests. My fiancé’s sister is bringing her unvaccinated spouse to the hotel where all the wedding festivities are being held b/c she is too scared to fly on an airplane without him. What are some of your tips to avoid / reduce the impact of spring pollen allergies. I have taken tablets etc but they are just ok. Any alternative therapies / treatments?

Whenever I have to put slides together, I doubt myself a million times and it takes too long to make a single slide. I know I have Impostor Syndrome and depression, and the longer it takes to put a slide together, the harder it is to get it done. It’s like I have a phobia for doing the work, but it’s my job as a consultant 😔 I think I fear getting it wrong, but I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how they have coped? Thanks, in advance 🙏🏻

My gf just got a peloton and now she is insufferable. “Peloton” this and “peloton” that. She even said “you can’t sit with me anymore because you don’t have a peloton”. She’s out of control!

I saw a new PCP in a new city and finally talked about how I believe I may have ADHD (I’m 40), particularly based on things I’ve read here. He suggested I talk to a psychologist first, but I’m having the hardest time getting an appt with anyone in the area. Has anyone used Teladoc and have any recs? What do you all do to make non-professional / personal connections? Particularly with the Coronavirus, and being in domestic relations, I wake up, go to work, work out, go home. So outside of law, my interactions with people are only at the gym given that my area is draining— particularly at the moment. Probably a good thing for now; but if we take coronavirus out of the equation, I’m interested what others in the community do to develop personal connections.

Girlfriend has very obvious high functioning anxiety and body image issues that she admits but thinks she doesn’t need therapy or medication and that reading self-help books will help her. It’s not changing in the last several years and it’s impacting our relationship. Anyone have experience with their SO dealing with untreated anxiety? I know I can’t control her but would like to express my feelings without sending her into a spiral. For context, I’ve been in therapy for 12 months and medicated

Kind of a new distance runner here (completed my first half mara last month) and am usually run on treadmill for workouts during the week. I also wear an Apple Watch. Have noticed that my Apple Watch tends to say I’ve run a longer distance, at a faster speed, than treadmill. (It’s usually up to 0.5 miles off and 0.5mph off in speed). Anyone experience this? Not sure what to trust but assuming Apple Watch. Thoughts?

What is the obsession and appeal for MBB among MBA grads? Is it really that amazing - from afar it seems like it may be romanticized (maybe not the right word) among applicants. I know it’s way better than the work I do now, so I’m not knocking MBB at all. It’s super impressive. Maybe a better way to phrase it is that MBA applicants seem to have a fairy tale view of consulting as a whole. I get the impression that people think a job in consulting is a magic ticket anywhere
