If I barely hit the minimum required utilization for 1st year analysts (75% for tech), can I still get a 1 or 2? Completely rocked my project but was on the bench for a bit longer than I wanted..
22 years old with about $20k in cash (15k combined in Roth and 401k). Where should I keep my cash if I want to save for a downpayment for a house? Should I just put it in a low cost index fund?
We often talk about European OOO msgs in this group, turns out there are challenges. "As costs ballooned, officials were "stunned" by the French taking a month vacation each summer." www.yahoo.com/news/budget-overruns-culture-clashes-over-121033257.html
How come some of the H1B applications are processed quickly (in a day or two) whereas others are still in queue for 12 days on premium processing? Don’t they follow sequence number?
Got a verbal offer for a role in industry over two weeks ago. I’ve followed up with the hiring manager and recruiter multiple times- they keep saying that the offer is pending approval...continued
Monday prayer requests! Comment how we can pray for you this week. “...praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,” Ephesians 6:18-19
Need advice. Currently at a top boutique. Fun firm, weak pipeline and 12 - 18 months from promotion. Received offer at a smaller firm focused on interim management for hospitals for 33% more TC. Less brand name, would get more experience managing people at a hospital. Do I jump?
Part-time grad school and agency life... doable or crazy? I average 50 hour weeks but would have a convo with my manager about being unavailable a few evenings a week and on weekends. I’ve been with my agency for 5+ years so hoping my seniority gives me some flex. Alternatively, I can try finding an in-house role before school starts but I know work/life balance is never guaranteed. Thoughts?
Need some advice - been at the D for a year and have been on the same implementation project for over a year. Have a technical background and am thinking of starting to look for exits to industry but also am curious what strategy projects are and if I would be interested in the work. Is it worth networking onto a strategy project at the D or should I just continue to look for industry exists and then go b school and then try for MBB/T2 ?
@Fishbowl, can we add a search function so we don't get daily posts asking about whether to do an MBA or what type of bag to get?
DFW -> Houston. Drive or fly and why?
Hey everyone! Recent transplant (26 F) who moved here during Covid (family reasons) so still not quite familiar with the areas. I’m currently living in Brentwood but looking to move. I’m considering Marina Del Rey as I want to be a bit closer to the office (in Venice) and the airport for when things open back up/travel resumes. I tried searching here but didn’t see a lot - what is the reputation of Mar Vista (and if possible - how is that different than Brentwood?). All opinions welcome! 🙂
I went to my boss at work and said, "I need a raise. Three other companies are after me." He said, "Really? Which other companies are after you?" I said, "The electric, water and gas companies"

Hi! Need help evaluating some offers and thinking about long term growth and trajectory. Have little more than 2 YOE in consulting. Also interviewing with PwC Strategy&, but no offer yet. Curious if the Deloitte name will carry me further than ZS? Want to ultimately get an MBA in the near future. TIA! 1. Deloitte, CBO TC ~95K 2. ZS, SIP TC ~130K 3. Startup (unicorn) TC (with stock options after 1Y) ~95K
What can you actually do to salvage a project going down in flames? I’m a new manager, completely do not have the support I need, and it seems as though every single team/person our team relies on to get things done on time has dropped the ball. All the issues are now coming to us. I don’t have the experience to navigate this all alone, and I am not getting the necessary support as all of my managers are swamped with other (to them, more important) issues at the same client.
Sharing positive updates. Hope this can be motivational for others who are in the situation or planning for a move. H1B Transfer approved in 2wks. Normal processing, not premium Vermont serv center.
