I'm nearing my first anniversary working for a company, and my employer is happy with my work. She called me in for a meeting the other day and mentioned how she values the work I do and that she feels I deserve to get a raise. I really do. However, she said, as much as she wants to give me a significant pay raise, it would be a lot on her now.

It's not like I'm underpaid. I earn a nice salary. It's just that I feel that I want the year's worth of hard work to be recognized. What to do?

Since she can’t afford a raise, try negotiating a couple extra days of PTO.

I would look at it this way, at least you still have a job and as long as she and you know that you a doing good work is all that should matter. The last employer I had was under a hiring and wage freeze for 13 of the 23 months that I was there.

Is there any chance at getting a bonus vs a salary increase? We used to get a couple thousand or company stock as incentive bonuses.

That being said, I also agree with Customer Service Representative 1's response.

Hello I was wondering if any admin assistants have gotten an inflation raise? At the next staff meeting I was going to ask for an inflation raise but I wanted to ask around before I did. Also if so how much was the raise and what not? Thank you in advance!

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?

Anyone have ideas for jobs that are a mix between administration and clinical work? I went to school for community health and have a lot of manager/patient coordinator experience under my belt, but I'm also a volunteer EMT and would like to start using those skills in my next job that I'm searching for.

Most titles I've found interesting are along the "medical assistants" role, but don't fit the bill cause I don't have an MA license
