What y'all know about Space150?
McKinsey & Company Hi everyone. Hope all is well.
Recently took the McKinsey & Company game (not sure if I have an interview yet but preparing nonetheless). It’s an entry level business analyst position and an entry level digital position and was wondering if anyone wanted to case prep with me. I’m willing to work on anyones time zone. (I’m located in Sydney, Australia).

Why should you even share your current salary ? It should be based on what you want vs what you currently make
I always frame it as “based on where I’m at right now, I would need to see X.”
This. Just answer the question you want to answer.
No! I almost lost an offer doing that.
I had to come up with some elaborate story to the justify the discrepancy between what the investigator pulled up and what I reported. I'm lucky they took the story. I know others who weren't so lucky. FYI your earnings are easily accessible on TheWorkNumber.com
What you want to do is not share your salary information and work to find out what the market rate is for your experience level and compare it to their salary because in my experience they are looking to get you for below the midrange salary they are offering
Yes.
No they can ask for your approval in the background check to talk to your former employers and verify your salary
And if you worked for a public company and they know how many years they can get a ballpark anyway
How much are you inflating it. Are you going from 100 to 110 or 100 to 150. Recruiting does know the market so be wary. But if you can actually justify the bigger bump outside of i want that then go ahead
I think it depends on the job…if you are literally lateraling to another firm then idk if it hurts if you know the market rates, but normally I would not disclose my old salary because it has no bearing.
Don’t go crazy with it
