FDD 🐠 I will be promoted to audit SM in October, however looking to transfer to the FDD practice. Based on discussions with partners in the practice, I would be brought in as an experienced manager with opportunity to promote to senior manager in FDD next year. Is the learning curve steep, or should I push to come in as SM? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Fishes need your suggestions please. I have an interview with PWC for GCP DE Manager, currently working in pure technical role as data engineer. YoE 12.5, cctc 10.5 and holding offers till 23.5 fixed and few more in pipeline, expecting till 27 with 40 days left in np. How much can I ask for a senior manager level in PWC AC Bangalore and how difficult is the work and transition from pure technical to managerial role? I am still bit reluctant to leave tech side, is it good in long run?

Currently an M&A Tax A2 (HCOL) at KPMG, just received offer from Deloitte (same group, same city) as S1 with 6.5% raise. Raise is obviously too low; not sure what is typical salary increase from A2>S1. What would be a good counter? Should it be equal to typical raise or even higher?

I’m currently saving to have and emergency fund for 6 months worth of expenses. I am also contributing about 20% of my salary to retirement. Any tips on what I should do with the extra I have left over every month? Would you stay living in a city you like but have very few friends there, or move back to your hometown where most of your friends and family are? My current city has a population of about 500k and my hometown is about 100k. My main reason to move away from my hometown was dating and jobs, but neither seem to be going any better over the past 2 years. COL is about 28% higher than my hometown and jobs don’t pay much better.

What would you pick between two companies where one offer is significantly higher comp wise than the other, but the one with a lower offer feels like it would be a better fit, and better growth trajectory? Both offers are still significantly higher than current salary.
