I’m really frustrated with the job market. All these companies claim they’re hiring but keep denying denying and DENYING applications. I often notice they hire high schoolers to pay them less. I applied to Target, which is known for this, after seeing signs and speaking with staff and one of the managers inside the store who confirmed that THEY were hiring and needed people. But then, after applying and interviewing, they told me they’re not hiring until February. So close to leaving the US man☹️

Started my LLM this fall and used to be a senior manager for Tax Structuring in M&A.
I’ve been applying to entry level LLMs positions for international tax with no success.
I’m in a loss if I’m doing something wrong or maybe my profile doesn’t match what big4 in US expects from an ITS associate…
I’m a foreign trained lawyer and accountant, I’m eligible to take both the bar and the CPA (and have them both in my country).
Should I give up going back to ITS and try a different area, maybe?

Hi all! Is anyone here in Underwriting? Just want some thoughts on this as i’ve recently gotten an offer for an Underwriting Associate position and have never done any salary negotiations before. Does it seem unrealistic for my counter offer to be 12k more than the original offer? Considering that the original offer is roughly 8k less than the market salary. Plus i’m also accounting for wiggle room as i’m not expecting them to actually agree with the full 12k counter offer
