I'm really stressed right now. I applied for a position that seemed perfect, and had 2 interviews within days that both went incredibly well. Loved the team and company culture. When HR asked for references, I sent 3 people who'd all said yes and told them to watch for the company's email. HR followed up, saying they got nothing back. Could my references ghosting them cost me this job?

I’m not sure. I’ve never heard of this happening but if the company really valued references, then it might be holding you back. I would follow up with the people who were supposed to be your references and see if they will call the hr manager.

Yes. Find other references. Have 6 or more to use. My friend used an older boss and he bad mouthed her. I told her never to use anyone that wont leave you a glowing review. And say theyd hire you back.
