What is wrong with people these days?

Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

I used to get stuck every holiday because I didn't have kids. The first dozen times I didn't mind cause I enjoyed my job. But one holiday I made plans and was ostracized for refusing to cancel my plans for a parent. After that, I NEVER worked a holiday I didn't have to. Done being taken advantage of because I knew how to use birth control!
Another reason why people should keep their personal life personal.
I always alternated working holidays. Not because I had to but because I felt it was the right thing to do and I was a single mom. Working on holiday just meant we had an alternate celebration. Your co-workers should respect you as a co-worker regardless of your status of single or whatever

I don’t think parents should be prioritized. They should have a policy about working X number of holidays a year. I would hope people would coordinate to help one another out, especially to cover religious holidays for those who celebrate.
No, and don't let it keep happening. They should rotate. It's possible you could never have kids...soo...does that mean you should never ever get a holiday off? I don't think so.
Bottom line everyone should rotate holidays. Family is not a topic here. Its rotation of work holidays.
Yep, I worked every holiday because of that and zero seniority. It’s only
Easter and while you may be religious, it’s a story based on a fairytale
Your comment has nothing to do with the subject..
That happened to me for the first 10 years I worked at my job. Easter, Christmas eve, Christmas day, Thanksgiving. I finally went to HR because there was a corporate policy in place that required everyone to rotate holidays. It was worse after that because everyone else was so hostile towards me.
When your life changes and it's your turn to have these moments with your children you will sing a different tune.
Children are you choice. Society does not owe you anything.
As a previous manager in healthcare I scheduled myself for almost every holiday to ensure my other managers didn’t feel upset when I scheduled myself off on Christmas…and Easter isn’t a Federal holiday so it should just go by your normal rotation.
I work as a Direct Care Worker, I do believe that all forms of medical field is a mess there is no people working like they used to Covid did a number on people, I worked in the hospital field as a CNA and had more time off then I do now Just wish we could get back to people working
No , you are experiencing discrimination.
Trade Easter , Christmas morning and Thanksgiving for Halloween July fourth Memorial Day and New Year’s Eve with coworkers. Also exact dates are not necessary. You can trade and submit your days off way early. You just have to manage strategic cooperation
