I’m confused, Are you asking if people feel more secure between salaried work or freelance work? If you work for any company in the US these days, you’re not secure.
Yeah I guess the job market right now it’s hard to feel secure in anything.
Security and stability in salaried work will always be better. With that being said, I have no regrets about jumping to freelancing. I built up my side business when I was still working full-time so the transition period was less of a risk. You have to be very business minded to make it work.
Yeah I think it’s just finding the motivation to build up something else while I have a full time job. It can be hard to find the motivation.
If you already have healthcare benefits, somehow what do you need a company for? Why wouldn’t you go freelance? You set your own prices. If you’re in a niche field, even the consultant field I’ve seen people do very well in those roles in that contract work. I really like the fact that you don’t report to anybody you may have to for an interim and a project report your outcomes to somebody in the company, but you don’t work directly for them. That way I can set my own hours almost and work from home.
That’s true there’s a lot of benefits, I think th freelance side can be more of a grind though which is where the negative feelings come in.
