I’m sure this is a dumb question… but how do you network your way into a change of jobs at Cannes? Do CCOs expect to be approached like that? Do I try LinkedIn message them beforehand so it’s not so out of the blue? (Clueless, I know).

So many people are trying to do the same, so it’s an effort to get above the noise. My best advice would be to target a handful of people whose work you admire and reach out letting them know you’ll both be in town and you’d love to buy them a (free)drink or otherwise connect. If you don’t know them that’ll be low percentage.

A better method is to use your existing network to go to as many events and parties as possible, stay sober, and network your butt off and be charming then. Ask to keep in touch, etc. then continue to grow those new connections after the week is over.

If no existing network, go to all the parties and sell drugs / hand out booze. ;).
