First, why expose conversations from a private network like our Company bowl and post them publicly? Isn’t that akin to leadership choosing to air dirty laundry?
Third, we want our leaders to lead. I’m sorry there’s just no scenario I can conjure where this was an example of thoughtful leadership. We’re held accountable for the quality of our work, should leadership not be held accountable for the quality of their leadership?
Second, no one is saying cynicism is not present in our industry, but there were plenty of constructive points made in the bowl by other Havas people that leadership could have chosen to engage and influence rather than deride and silence. What happen to leading by “going high” - not low?
Havas 2 I just opened his Instagram page and I’m sorry but I can’t hear you over the sound of how awesome Jason thinks he is!
GroupM, agree with you. but go look at Jason’s Instagram story and know that nothing will convince him that jobseekers would not be interested in havas or that what he’s doing is flawed in any way. He has his own positive reinforcement bubble that won’t ever challenge him to be better and will continue to blindly praise him for whatever he does.
I would NEVER feel safe sharing my point of view with him. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in that. Dissent is not tolerated in this autocracy.
Antiquated agency model with leaders who have been there for too long and never held accountable. Never a good mix. Sorry to hear it.
Apparently they are now claiming it’s supposed to be anti-bullying https://adage.com/article/agency-news/havas-chicago-confronts-anonymous-employee-comments-installation/315179/
Hey at least Kanye deactivated his social accounts 🤷🏻♀️
Are people who don’t absolutely *love* the company they work for incapable of putting forward outstanding work? Then why post this pathetic display of pettiness? Are there not other, more important personnel problems they have, aside from the mean things people write on Fishbowl? Did they think “turnover in advertising couldn’t get any worse so why not try this?" Upon hearing this, do they suppose jobseekers will be *more* eager to apply to Havas?
I see a company-wide apology email in their near future...
EDIT: Quality reading for Havas Mgmt —

“The agency says the installation coincided with the launch of Monica Lewinsky’s anti-bullying campaign."
I think they are actually bullying or scaring people from speaking their minds.
i just had a past comment explaining how jason peterson’s insta handle (@trapdraper) is an example of tone deaf cultural appropriation removed for being reported as offensive. wonder who did that?????
AMD 1, check this thread for more info: "Jason Peterson’s “Employee of the Month” stunt is peak #whitemale. Grow up dude. Don’t you have an In..."

Wait. What happened?
You know that moment when something is so bad, it’s absolutely hysterical? So out of touch. Stuff like this is why agencies are ultimately doomed.
Literally every one of my exes has exhibited more maturity than this childish response.
@OP Thank you for articulating this so well. I also noticed how the posts didn’t any of the more even-toned and sincere critiques included on fishbowl. The whole thing is a shame. His contempt for people in the building doing the work is terrible for morale. That should really matter to leadership.
Bad leaders are usually horrible listeners.
It’s not so much offensive as it is extremely thirsty and embarrassing.
