I'm teaching a unit on realistic fiction (7th grade Calkins Units of Study) - LOTS of models to choose from. Are there examples of fiction you like to use as a model for kids when teaching them about writing fiction?

For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.
