Is there someone under you? You may suggest the most junior person take the meeting notes to help with their development.
Just say "no"
If you’re the senior accountant, why not delegate to junior staff?
Who is the most junior person?
You say no. I told my boss NO on a similar issue and there was dead silence, followed by: "did you just say no?". He was aghast but too bad - that is not in your job description - I told him where to find what he was looking for and I did not have time in my work day to accommodate the request. After a while you will get fed up enough being the office mom and you will decline the extra work. The person doing the asking of you, the only woman, is the person who is NOT the team player. The more work you accept, the more they will give you.
Never been in the situation personally, but maybe you could counter with a set split of these duties. Pick the one you like/mind doing the least and suggest that the others be split among the rest of the team. (If you truly don’t mind doing one of the things. If you do mind, no is always an option.)
Your no could sound like “I would prefer to focus on XYZ (insert client work, daily tasks, other additional responsibilities you perhaps have already taken on, etc). Can someone else on the team take the lead on that.”
I love that everyone is suggesting that YOU smooth over your "no" answer. I promise you, if you were a male, your no would be accepted and other arrangements would be made. Honestly, a man probably would not be "voluntold" to do these things. The supervisor should ask for volunteers, not force these things on one person. I was told once that I should be the note taker at meetings because "you're so good at it" to which I responded, "sounds like you need the practice more than I!". If you don't want to do something that is not in your job description, then say no.
Suggest a rota system so everyone covers each of the softer skills roles over the course of a year
Id be mad. No one asks me to to this stuff .... thata why qe have admin and secretaries
