What should I be considering when evaluating a business analyst role? Are these more accounting than finance, FP&A, or does it change by company?

I have recently moved to Long Beach, CA and I am currently looking for a Recruiting Coordinator or Technical Recruiter role close by. I am also open to hybrid or remote jobs.
5 years of HR and Admin experience, masters in business and management and currently reading towards my SPHR. Also looking for someone well experienced in the field to serve as a career mentor.

It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. This is my first job in a large corporate company, and I’m trying to gauge how long it normally takes to move from entry level to another internal position in the insurance industry. I have been applying internally for a year now and I am wondering if this is normal or if my company is just slow? I am a top performer, with great metrics, and I have some wonderful connections I’ve made who support me. I just can’t seem to move up. How long did it take you to move up? How many tries did it take?

I feel like every company lies about “working your way up.” You’re never allowed to blatantly say that you don’t like your position and you’d like to transition to HR or Finance. It’s almost as if once you get in claims, you’re stuck.

If you’re a manager and you see an employee that wants to branch out into a different department, why would you keep them boxed in for 2+ years?

I am now interviewing for a VP Accounting role with the mortgage company that got shafted by the short sale. If I get the job offer, can they/will they see this on my credit report? Can they pull the offer due to this? Should I tell them before we advance further?
