I'm thinking about taking a pay cut to get out of a high-stress job. This new job has a much better schedule and a slower pace, which is what I need right now. It’s still tough to walk away from the extra money, though. If you’ve done this, was it actually worth it once the novelty wore off?

I did this two years ago, and it was the best decision I ever made. The extra money is nice, but you can’t buy back your time or your mental health. I have so much more energy for my family now. The adjustment was a challenge at first, but we just cut back on eating out and unnecessary subscriptions. I say go for it!
