It’s fun but I think it’s just absolutely wild how much these tech people are being paid and how much they’re asking for
Commenting because I want to know as well, Tech Recruiting is my dream career and I need to know where to start.
I was in staffing doing sales and supply chain recruiting. I got recruited to Uber on a contract sourcer role then converted to full time. Most of the people I know who got into tech took a contract to get their foot in the door and prove themselves (sourcing, coordinating, recruiting etc.).
Isn’t tech recruiting also one of the highest paid recruiting positions?
I recruited for a start-up GovCon/ Consulting firm and 50% of my reqs, were tech related. Two jobs later was with a mid-sized Fintech as a Sourcer (Tech Ops & Exec) and then, left for a contract role with Amazon. Did it for almost a year and recently converted into a DEI Tech Sourcing role. Yup, best risk/ decision that I have ever made.
I got a chance to work in HR/corporate recruiting in the IoT/Hardware industry by luck of applying and truly immersed myself within the engineering/product management side. I then leveraged my experience to get into tech recruiting. As difficult as it is to hire candidates in this competitive market, I love it! I’m really just awe inspired by all the engineers I get to speak too and love hearing about their problem-solving ability & curious mindset. Personally I find engineers most enjoyable to talk to vs. other positions I’ve worked on in the past (but maybe bc I’m a little bit of a tech nerd myself!)
