London or Amsterdam.
@acd 1 - Not surprised, end of the day there are not that many international shops there, and none of them are huge. Add to that that senior roles are more rare and the shit landscape we’re in for agencies atm and it’ll be pretty slim pickings. But I don’t think it’s because of language at those specific places.
I'm in Amsterdam and it's pretty tough. Most of my work now is out of London, done remote.
As an aside, has anyone seen a European media leader ever successfully run a US Media agency? Cause we have like six of them at Havas and we are clearly a disaster
Our European counterparts literally only run tv. It’s still cheap to buy so that is all the advertising they do. It’s wild how more complicated the us media market is.
London or Amsterdam. The language gap can be problematic in many markets and can limit your opportunities but Amsterdam is a hub for a lot of regional work so there are lots of non Dutch speakers in the mix. The work life balance is also good. Good luck.

Oh and you get your birthday off. LOL
How does one “move” to Europe and get a job? I was under the impression your only chance is getting sponsored via a company. Unless there’s another way.
Not easy at allllll! An anerican who tried and lived abroad for ad school
Passports are near impossible too
Be prepared to pay a LOT of taxes.
Do you have a passport or a visa? Way too many Americans think they can just leave lol
That sounds sweet but alas
London pays $450-650 USD day rate. And rent is as bad as NYC if not worse. But two months off for vacation and people don’t work as hard as Americans because there is not much incentive. Women get 12 months paid maternity and dads get 9 months.
£500/day freelance rate. Rent slightly cheaper than NYC where a one-bed is $4k/month. My agency gives 6 months fully paid mat leave, and 6 weeks vacation.

Or simply start your own agency and offer your services to whomever you wish. On a global scale. In my case I'm from the uk. Years ago I started a full service agency in the uk. Legally I cannot work at all in the usa but I love California so American clients of mine employ me and/or my agency as a British company then if I decide to holiday in LA for example where my employers happen to also be based. I'm working remotely for my uk limited company while on holiday. Who's going to know if I pop into the clients agency and make the coffee if you get my drift. Your a creative. Think like one. You should be able to solve any problem especially creative ways to play the system so you win in what it is you want to do. You must know how to sell yourself however. Last thought. You speak English I guess so London and Sydney are cool to work in but don't expect a $250,000 Los Angeles salary even though you still will need one. Good luck. W
