I do most of my strength training at home. Less time commuting means more time for everything else. But I did invest in a few quality pieces of equipment to make it feel more legit.
Join a gym, there's only so much you can do at home with dumbbells and bands. I did it for a while during COVID and was able to get decent workouts in, but I much prefer the variety and all the machines at the gym. And I personally have an easier time staying focused when I'm there. I was always getting distracted when I tried to work out at home.
I don't have time to make it to the gym often enough but I can find 20 or 30 minutes, sometimes while on a call, where I can use my/the hotel's dumbells and bands. While the gym offers more variety, I have almost 30 different workouts with those two items and you don't even need that many.
I work out at home. But I have a virtual trainer that give me support and monthly programming to follow. It’s awesome. With two kids and a busy job, home works best for me and it’s been making time to work out 5 days a week for 2 years. Happy to recommend my trainer! She’s amazing
I would definitely suggest joining a gym. Something about working out at home just means I am not going to really do it. I have the equipment but once I get home I want to relax and not have to worrry about working out.
Love working out at home when convenient for me. I use Peloton app for my strength workouts
