In a personal injury case (involving issues not pertaining to a motor vehicle accident), where only one carrier for defendants has appeared thru counsel, how does plaintiff settle the case?

Well, I was the one who broke it off. I couldn’t get him to love me the way I needed or even respect me enough. It’s been 6 weeks of not seeing each other. We messaged this week. He doesn’t get it…. Really looking for a way to turn around a toxic building culture with staff to staff bullying, cliques/social isolation, hard feelings on big topics (racism, non acceptance of gender identity). Last year the staff polarized with the lead bully whom I helped leave. And the lead gossip (who was my secretary) that gained their sympathy and turned them against me. She also left. Thoughts on Citi's Leveraged Portfolio Group at the Analyst level? I'm curious if anyone has additional details on the group for an Analyst spot. What does the group focus on in terms of work, what are hours like, decent exit Ops, interview process etc? I'm a 6th year attorney in NYC. Strictly defense work; started out with the City Law Dept, did a year and a half of med mal/construction, and for past year and a half have been at a well known defense firm working on high exposure construction accident cases. Contemplating taking a couple interviews at plaintiff's firms to see if there is a good fit. Does anyone have any advice on how approach discussions about compensation and what a market level comp package would or should look like?

PI/med-mal associate in my 7th year in a small firm in the Cleveland area - my total awards to date are over $11M on cases I’ve been the primary mover, and I typically am getting $1.5M a year in total results. Does that sound like too little for my experience level in this field? Fees are easily 4x my total compensation.

Has anyone ever dealt with Geico UM case where they insist that a release needs to be signed? Geico extended our client’s policy limits but wants him to sign a release. We offered to sign an acknowledgment of receipt of funds but Geico said without a release signed, they will not issue payment.

4th year at a mid size PI firm. Got pulled from litigating MVAs to help this solo we hired start a med Mal/nursing home practice. 1 year in and it looks like I’m two steps backwards in terms of getting paid because we’re a year or more out from a lot of the fees hitting. I respect the solo a lot, he’s a mentor, but I’ve got kids and I gotta get paid. Trying not to burn bridges, but I can’t wait years to get cut in. Advice?

How much support staff is reasonable to expect? Plaintiff PI, med mal/aviation and we’ve lost 2/4 “paralegals” in the last month. Lack of support staff really beginning to feel like it will limit my ability to handle the usual caseload. Was on an island before, and only going to get worse…

The offer from the large firm is for a pre-suit position, base salary of $100K - is this salary pretty standard for this kind of position?
