I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. My group’s billable hours have been low the last few years, so making partner will be nearly impossible, and a counsel position is not viable long-term in my group. What’s the best option here if partnership is the ultimate goal? Try to get a NEP/counsel position at another firm, which is likely difficult in my market, or offer to take a class cut by a few years?

One of the major challenges I've encountered in starting a union in my workplace is that people who are woke enough to know we need one are also the ones smart enough to jump ship.

I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

A company has made an offer and I wanted to understand if i'm being made a fool.

The monthly compensation is 1,37,500 (16,50,000 yearly) and Variable component (Bonus) is 1,50,000.

However in the offer it says "You shall be paid an annual compensation of Rs. 16,50,000/- per annum Cost to Company."

Which to me sounds like it doesn't consider 1,50,000 to be a part of CTC which is suspicious to me.

How should I deal with this?

Anyone feel as if it’s hard to stay with a company when you’re the only one of color? (&young) I’ve work for 3 companies in past 5 years and have yet to make meaningful colleague relationships. I just do not relate to the conversation and just find it hard to picture myself being a long-term employee. I’ve had better relationships when working at wal-mart when I was in college. I feel it takes away some of the joy of having to go to work.
