In current times, is a federal government job ( that comes with a move from a 2nd tier city to a 3rd tier city) still worth it?

There’s nothing wrong with with federal jobs. The problem is the current system rewards people for not actually working. There are many good jobs available and we need good people to fill them.

If you want to actually work and remember that you’re being paid taxpayer dollars yes it’s worth’s. If you want to sit around twiddling your thumbs collecting federal benefits then no.

What is an example of a tier 2 city / tier 3 city?

Any tips on assessing if the hiring manager will be a good manager and person to work with?

I’d be hoping to learn a lot from them, as they would be pretty much be all of my day-to-day interactions and team. I’ve received an offer but have asked for another convo as I’m still unsure on culture, WLB and training etc as it’s a new team so no other people in comparable roles to talk to.

I’ve been at a job for a few months and hate it - partners set unrealistic deadlines, micromanage, and create work that truly is not necessary/push urgency when there is no real urgency. I had other offers prior to accepting this job that may still be options, and going back to my old job (for a pay cut) might also be an option. I can’t tell if this is just burnout, growing pains, or just an untenable work environment. Would you ride it out for a year at new job or pursue other options? HELP!

So I have been made an offer by a company I like but it’s pretty similar to my current package (I also like where I am). The recruiter is pretty intense and is pitting me against another candidate but says I’m the number one choice and is asking me for a number to say yes “but not too high or the team will look at the other candidate”
I’m close to send them to get stuffed. I’m also awaiting a promo and interview feedback from Google. Any advice?

I saw someone else do this, so imma give it a shot. Lately, I’ve been applying to iOS developer roles and I’m getting TONs of calls and callbacks from HR and recruiting managers, but then when my resume gets pushed to hiring managers they seem to often get peeved at how little years of experience I have with the title “iOS developer”…
which is fair, and to show my credibility I published my first app last week, but I’m still getting similar messages from recruiters this week. Idk what to do??
