In customer service, even short huddles feel like a blessing. They’re more than just a pause from workload, they’re moments to share, talk about challenges, and feel heard. Breaks help clear the mind, but those 15-minute huddles bring connection and relief, reminding us we’re not alone in this demanding job.

I agree with this as long as the huddles stay focused on being supportive/productive. Too many times, I've been stuck in a huddle that gets off track and goes in circles. But yes, those positive huddles can be a game changer for long shifts.

You are absouletly right. When I was with my previous manager, she would play some weird video for some of our huddles and it was just waste of time.

Anything that breaks up the monotony is always appreciated. Our huddles aren't always the most productive, but they're still a nice reprieve from the phones. I'm always happy whenever they're scheduled. It's the only real break I get aside from my 30 minute lunch.

You are right. Any time away from the phone is always appreciated. Our huddles are usually for 15 mins but they would sometimes last long for 25 mins.

So true! Those quick huddles can make all the difference — a little support and connection go a long way in a tough job. It’s the small moments that keep us going.

Exactly! I like the part where everyone participates and share their funny stories.

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.
