Could anyone kindly tell me about the Investment Management and Private Equity Audit Group at Deloitte? 1. Work Life Balance (Is it worst than the ordinary Big 4 WLB?) 2. Is it an entirely different audit from commercial/retail audits (think account balances etc.) 3. Difficult to learn how to audit clients in this industry without prior experience in the industry?(been doing commercial audits for 3 years) 4. Are there relatively good exit opportunities for this audit group? Deloitte PwC EY
Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.
Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

Guy on my team is a flex senior, gets paid hourly and 1.5x for overtime while we doing 60+ hours for the same salary 🤗
What’s a flex senior and how do I get paid that much?
Ok, these are more client project related.
IPOs require crazy hours and deadlines, but also provide opportunity for the best learning and the building of the closest relationships.
I recall staying at the printer for more than 48 hours straight (caught a few naps on the couch). Made a couple great friends that IPO (investment banker and their counsel). Had the best laughs at 3 and 4am.
Another time I made a surprise visit to a client facility just over the boarder in Mexico. There was speculation of fraud by the local GM. This was in Mexicali. All turned out ok, but I was truly afraid I would end up dead in a dumpster after showing up unannounced to investigate the guy. A colleague from our Tiajuana office met me there which made me feel a bit better.
And for those who know the Chicago area, I drove my team from the city to St Charles at 2 or 3am via North Avenue. We drove through some of the scariest neighborhoods I have ever seen. I bet if this was in more recent years, we might have ended up getting car jacked or worse.
These are probably better in my memory than what I typed.
This really belongs in the Unprofessional Bowl (unless by crazy you mean client project related).
Let's just say it involves drinking from an upside down toy viking helmet at the beach and then moving the get together (ok, party) to someone's condo......and then seeing things nobody should ever see.....you cant simply "unsee" certain things about your coworkers! I still get together with many of these people today, roughly 25 years later. And we still laugh about it. And yes, still vivid images of a crazy night.
Accountants can be among the hardest core partiers I have ever seen. Some crazy time with that crew well beyond the viking helmet. The late 80s and early to mid 90s were nuts.
Omg more details please
Worked under a guy that did shady stuff before I eventually left under him and came to kpmg. He had a record and avoided jail time because he ratted out his friends (accomplices / business partners also doing shady stuff). He strong armed me and used subversion/ coercion tactics to try and get me to do unethical things too and I wasn’t biting. Suddenly my performance reviews went south and it went to “nobody wants to work with you, it takes you longer to do stuff than other people” etc. (which it did not, all the peer reviews were glowing). It was clear he was just trying to manage me out because I wasn’t on board with his shady tactics. I had no trouble finding a new job because I’m obviously stellar. After I left, suddenly other people on the team left too. First it were the other seniors, then the director too. He had nobody left and ended up getting canned I think, but he’s got another successful big timey partner job somewhere else.
That’s wild
