In hospitality, weekends are prime time, but pay doesn’t always reflect that. If you could redesign wage structures, would you push for weekend differentials or flexible time-off instead?

If I trusted that the flexible time would actually be honored, I'd take that. But I don't. So give me the cash. At least that way I'd make more money while continuing to miss out on every social event.

Honestly, fair. Cash is the only thing that’s actually guaranteed. Flexible time-off only works if you can trust it’ll be honored.

That’s an interesting thought. I know overnights are likely to get a shift incentive. I don’t feel like companies would offer one for weekends, but it’s a nice thought. Flexible time off would be too difficult and probably cause more issues than it would bring good.

Totally get that. Overnights are already recognized as “hard shifts,” but weekends kind of get treated as expected in hospitality. I agree flexible time off could get messy, but even a small weekend differential might go a long way in making people feel their time is valued. It’s less about logistics and more about recognition, honestly.

Hi Fishes,

I’m here to seek some guidance over a doubt of mine. I am joining a new company and they wants me to join on 21st November . But I have a notice period of 30 days which I’m supposed to serve in my current company.

I’m looking for some tips and ways to negotiate with the new company for granting me a new joining date or to buy me out of notice period and thereafter join in for the new job.

Writing annual goals. What are examples of how to write “quantifiable” goals as a consultant? Are you measuring number of relationships built, projects, or something else?

Most of consulting is advising on solutions to problems, but I don’t control the outcome, whether the advice is implemented, or the budget. Sales is easy (e.g. “sell $2M of products/services this year”) because there is a clearly defined measurement. What can consultants measure?

I'm an accounts receivable expert with 8+ yrs of experience. I started with 96k per annum in 2014, and have worked with 4 different MNCs since then. Currently I'm getting approx 9Lpa, and it feels like I'm pretty much stuck here. Switching jobs increases the pay scale, while staying for a while reflects stability.

When I look at the other member's comments here, it seems majority of folks are earning 20-30Lpa or even more.

Any suggestions from mature audience to achieve a big pay raise.

Hi all, I have about 7 years of professional experience but only one year as a Customer Success Manager. I work on mid market accounts currently. I love my job, but would prefer to support a more robust platform that will allow me to add more value for my customers.

I’d appreciate your thoughts on what compensation you might expect for a CSM transitioning to a new company with one year of experience.

To clarify, I don’t have an offer yet, I’m just looking to make a move.

Thank you!
