If I trusted that the flexible time would actually be honored, I'd take that. But I don't. So give me the cash. At least that way I'd make more money while continuing to miss out on every social event.

Honestly, fair. Cash is the only thing that’s actually guaranteed. Flexible time-off only works if you can trust it’ll be honored.
That’s an interesting thought. I know overnights are likely to get a shift incentive. I don’t feel like companies would offer one for weekends, but it’s a nice thought. Flexible time off would be too difficult and probably cause more issues than it would bring good.

Totally get that. Overnights are already recognized as “hard shifts,” but weekends kind of get treated as expected in hospitality. I agree flexible time off could get messy, but even a small weekend differential might go a long way in making people feel their time is valued. It’s less about logistics and more about recognition, honestly.
